Growing up I always knew I wanted a career in the field of medicine. I have always enjoyed helping others whether it has been volunteering at united way cleaning up rapid city, Habitat for humanity building houses and many Knight of Columbus events we would attend with our father at a young age.

The decision to pursue Chiropractic did not come until later in my education. I decided in high school I wanted to be in the health care field helping other people but was unsure of the specifics. I was fortunate enough to have grown up in a Chiropractic lifestyle having a father who is a chiropractor, but never realized how fortunate I was until later in life. By college, I had it narrowed down to becoming a Pediatrician or Chiropractor. After following a few chiropractors and seeing how much there treatment can help children and families for that matter, I made my decision to pursue a career in chiropractic.

After finishing up my undergraduate education at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, I attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington MN. Through my schooling at Northwestern College of Chiropractic I was lucky enough to have classes and work directly under some of the best children and family doctors the school has to offer. I learned ways to adapt my adjusting methods for infants, toddlers and all the way up to adults. These doctors gave me confidence to deliver superior chiropractic care to all ages of patients.

Looking back on my childhood, I can appreciate the benefit of living the “Chiropractic Lifestyle.” I am a third generation Chiropractor following my great uncle, father and older brother. I can count on one hand the times I have been sick in the last 15 years due the care and benefits I have had growing up in a chiropractic life style. I have managed to rarely be sick after never received a single vaccination, antibiotic or drug therapy, and eating an healthy diet- taught to me by my parents following a lifetime of chiropractic care. After a minor rear end car accident with whiplash my first year of undergraduate along with numerous sports injuries, I realized how much chiropractic care can help and individual like my self and that I can now help others as I have been helped. Where some people may been required to give up their active lifestyles due to broken bones, damaged nerves and ruptured discs, I continue to do the activities and sports I enjoy pain free. I am a living example of what Chiropractic can do for you and realize that is why I pursue this career.

The Doctor Asks some important questions of interest to Rapid City residents - Chiropractor Rapid City The Doctor Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
